10 most beautiful pavilions expo : Dubai Expo 2020 has come to an end, after 6 months of activity and over 8 years of work.

Were you unable to go to Expo 2020 Dubai in time? Here's your chance to see what made the event so fun and interesting to visit. Let's retrace the greatness of this once-in-a-lifetime event together.

170 years of history that has brought us all kinds of technologies, from televisions to computers, from breathtaking landmarks like the Eiffel Tower in France to the Atomium in Belgium, you can expect the same level of entertainment at Expo 2020 in Dubai as well .

Guide to the extraordinary architecture of the Dubai Expo

With over 190 countries from around the world participating in Expo 2020 in Dubai, showing their cutting-edge technologies and architecture on an area of over 438 hectares, I have decided to compile a list of all my favorite architectural works for documenting how fantastic Expo 2020 Dubai was.

Without further ado, here are the most beautiful pavilions and architecture of Expo 2020 in Dubai.

1. Al Wasl Square

If the Eiffel Tower was the main landmark of the Paris Expo of 1889, Al Wasl Plaza is the main landmark of the Dubai Expo 2020. The stunning dome-shaped architecture is an impressive example of what can be expected from Expo 2020 Dubai.

It is considered the largest unsupported dome in the world . At over 67 meters high and 130 meters wide, Al Wasl Plaza is a visual marvel, worthy of being the icon of the entire event .

The dome is so large that it will be one of the first pieces of architecture you see even before arriving at the Expo 2020 metro station in Dubai. The dome structure was also used as a 360 ° surface for laser projections during the opening ceremony, the largest of its kind, and different light shows were projected every day, keeping visitors busy.

After the conclusion of Expo 2020 Dubai in April, it has been confirmed that Al Wasl Plaza will be left intact, as Dubai will transform the place into a tourist attraction, so be sure to drop by when in Dubai.

2. The pavilion of the United Arab Emirates

Of course, being the host of Expo 2020 , the UAE must prove to the world that it is capable of designing and building architecture worthy of the title and I must say that the UAE Pavilion did not disappoint.

Shaped like a hawk in flight, the UAE pavilion was designed to reflect the bird's agility and the strength of the country and its people. It is also a cultural symbol of the country and represents an important part of the Emirati tradition.

The UAE Pavilion is a four-story white structure made up of a space for hospitality and exhibits dedicated to showcasing the culture and telling the country's inspiring stories and incredible achievements.

The building is all painted white, with smooth curves, and the interior is dotted with blue ponds and small trees. Once inside, I was blown away by its immersive presentation, from a hall full of projections on real sand dunes showing UAE history to a 4D experience theater with an elevating platform.

Once the presentation was over, I was ushered into a room full of thought-provoking ideas and innovations that the country is planning to present to the world, from desert farming to a self-driving taxi, all in this gorgeous interior right under the intricate hawk-shaped structure.

Since the UAE is the organizers of Expo 2020 in Dubai, it's safe to bet that they will keep the pavilion running, in one form or another, even after the event ends.

3. German Pavilion

The German Pavilion was another fun pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai. The concept is based on the campus theme , where visitors will be able to touch creative environmental ideas with their own hands through impressive interactions and entertainment.

When you arrive at the " Campus Germany ", enter your name and they will give you a printed card. Then Germany and its different regions and how it is pursuing its sustainable energy technology is presented.

The introduction of the German Pavilion was quite typical at Expo, but what made the German Pavilion one of the most beautiful pavilions to visit was the fun and interactive swing room , where you could find yourself surrounded by large screens and you could watch the presentation as it swayed in sync with the light and sound show in progress.

There was also a ball room where you could jump. The pavilion was very impressive for its interactive presentation, as it informed us about the country's initiative and offered some great photo opportunities.

4. The UK Pavilion

If you met someone from space, how would you describe the Earth in a nutshell ? This is the question that the UK Pavilion has tried to answer with one of the most surprising and extravagant projects at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

The pavilion was designed to showcase the country's intellectual and collaborative collective future using a collective poetry generated by artificial intelligence that anyone can contribute to and which will be displayed on the facade of its stunning structure in the shape of a fiber optic cable.

The pavilion's design was inspired by Stephen Hawking's final project, " Breakthrough Message ", which invites visitors to consider what message they would like to communicate as a planet if one day we encounter other advanced civilizations in space.

5. Japan Pavilion

It may be that Japan will be the next country to take the helm of Expo in 2025, but the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai was by far one of the most technologically impressive and memorable experiences .

When you enter the pavilion, you receive a smartphone with a series of instructions to follow. Once finished, you are taken to different rooms to witness a series of epic presentations of Japan that showcase its impressive achievements and provide a glimpse into the pillars and core of why Japanese culture is so unique.

One of the most beautiful halls one entered was a room filled with elaborate miniatures of modern Japan and its future, built with everyday, highly creative and extremely impressive objects. These small miniatures depict Japan in a way that only the Japanese know how to do.

At the end of the one-hour tour inside the Japan Pavilion, you are assigned a unique avatar based on your interests and how you move as you walk around the pavilion, which is really cool. The avatar fell into one of four categories, almost like having a personal Pokemon based on what you interact with.

All in all, the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai was certainly an experience unlike any before and that makes the upcoming Osaka Expo 2025 even more interesting to visit.

6. Pavilion of Saudi Arabia

In terms of area, the Saudi Arabian pavilion was considered the second largest pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. It spanned over 13,000 m² and the entrance was decorated with a giant screen that illuminated the entire area with its stunning presentation of the country's plan for a shared future.

Right at the entrance, as the path winds its way through the pavilion, is a beautiful, interactive cascading fountain that many visitors have enjoyed.

Once inside, you were taken on an escalator through small models of some stunning Saudi Arabian tourist attractions, and once you got to the top, you were faced with one of the most intriguing tourist videos you could see.

What made it so special were the double-curved screens on the curved wall and floor that showed all of Saudi Arabia's top tourist destinations from both normal and aerial views, all synchronized to create immersion that make me want to visit the country right at that moment.

7. Pavilion of Morocco

The Morocco Pavilion is a 6-story structure built to resemble an earthen village where you can navigate through all exhibits thanks to a continuous ramp reflecting the streets of Moroccan medinas and its iconic "Wast Eddar" patio.

The inside was also as impressive as the outside, with several creative exhibits such as the "Plants Power" exhibit, which shows how traditional Moroccan medicines from more than 800 endemic plants in the country inspire innovation.

8. Pavilion of Pakistan

The Pakistan Pavilion boasted one of the most colorful facades of all the other pavilions at Expo 2020 in Dubai. The facade was made up of hundreds of colored glass pieces which created a beautiful optical illusion when approached. The exterior of the Pakistan Pavilion certainly catches the eye the moment you approach it.

The inside of the pavilion was also as impressive as the outside, with many rooms dedicated to showcasing the beautiful landscapes of Pakistan, from the colorful and diverse culture of the south to the unmatched nature of the north, which make you want to travel to Pakistan.

There are also many impressive art installations in the Pakistan Pavilion. My favorite was the Sheesh Mahal boardwalk, a boardwalk that will take you through a virtual forest created with green laser light beams that give the feeling of walking in the rain.

Inside the pavilion, one could take a look at many unique traditions and cultures of some of the most remote areas of the world and discover a country that rarely receives positive media coverage.

9. Luxembourg Pavilion

The Luxembourg pavilion was certainly the biggest surprise of all. Who would have thought that one of the smallest countries in the world would have such a strong impact?

The Luxembourg pavilion was an extraordinary architectural work that used the ring geometry of the Möbius strip, a single twisted surface with no beginning or end, representing infinity, all curving around the structure, creating an incredible image for us and a perfect representation of the country's ambitions.

Once inside, you will be able to learn more about this small country and its impact on the world. A curious fact: Luxembourg was the sole supplier of the steel and glass that make up the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world.

The Luxembourg pavilion was also the only one that boasted an internal slide in which children could jump to go down to the ground floor of the exhibition. There was also a local restaurant called Schengen Lounge, named after a city in Luxembourg, where you could enjoy Luxembourgish fusion cuisine.

10. Sweden Pavilion

The concept of the pavilion was that of co-creation through innovation and the use of trees as a metaphor for the sustainable future that we want to create.

As soon as you left the gate, you could attend the first great presentation, " The Forest ", in which you walked between rows and rows of tall woods as if you were crossing a rich Swedish forest, surrounded by real tree trunks and a ' forest-like atmosphere.

Now that the Dubai Expo 2020 has come to an end

Now that the Dubai Expo 2020 has finally come to an end, it seems the UAE government is not done yet, as there are big plans to transform the Dubai Expo 2020 venue into another major tourist attraction for the city.
