How to join Clubhouse? Where to find an invitation? Our experience in the new exclusive social audio that is depopulating in Italy and in the world

Clubhouse is the new social app, currently iPhone exclusive, where you can listen and tell stories, share ideas and chat with people from all over the world. And yes, we at Windowo can find us too.

Clubhouse: come entrare nel nuovo social audio?

The window on the world today is Clubhouse, the social audio that is having a global resonance, grinding huge numbers in just a few days of activity. So I got intrigued too: I installed the iOS app, found an invitation and immersed myself in this new experience.

In this article I will tell you in a simple and clear way what Clubhouse is , where you can find an invitation to participate in the Clubhouse rooms and what my personal experience was during the first few hours of managing my new account.

What is Clubhouse?

Clubhouse is the new social audio, completely different from Facebook or Instagram. It could be defined as a sort of huge live podcast , a gallery of rooms where you can listen to the voices of famous and not, conversing on disparate topics such as the role of new technologies, Italian and international news, music, entrepreneurship, politics, gaming. ... in short, you can listen to people discussing everything you want. Given these premises, it is not surprising that this platform is fast becoming the new trend that everyone is talking about.

How does Clubhouse work?

I open my Clubhouse app and scroll to find a room to start listening to. There are moderators, who manage the conversation and decide who to pass the word to. Particular importance is given to the friends of the organizers, separating them from the simple audience that listens. Anyone can raise their hand to ask to be able to express their opinion. I sincerely hope that this possibility is exploited and that Clubhouse does not become a sort of "elite agora" where few gurus speak to the people without a real confrontation.

Clubhouse is growing like a rocket

I already knew podcasts were going really strong in the last year, but Clubhouse broke every category record. The company was founded very recently: only in February 2020. Yet it has already attracted large investments and many new users. Probably the short-term future of Clubhouse is to monetize this enormous visibility by selling advertisements within the platform and by selling tickets for particular events or season tickets for limited access rooms.

Clubhouse: how to enter?

At the moment the application is still in beta phase , available only via iPhone. The Clubhouse can be accessed immediately by invitation only, but it is also possible to put yourself on the waiting list to "wait your turn".

In summary, here's how you can get into Clubhouse:
  • First method: you can access the official website of the Clubhouse application , download it and join the waiting list. When it is your turn you will receive an invitation directly from the platform managers. Given the large number of requests, however, it is difficult to receive a response in a short time.
  • Second method: someone inside the application can send you an invitation. Each individual user has a number of invitations to send to potential new users, who can then create a profile on Clubhouse with the letter of entry.

If you are invited to join Clubhouse by a person who already uses it, you will immediately receive two new invitations to send to whomever you want. This exclusive system serves to test the stability of the servers and in the same way to create a climate of hype around the phenomenon of this new explosive social network.

How to receive an invitation to join the Clubhouse?

Our advice to receive an invitation as soon as possible and dive into the world of Clubhouse is to subscribe to groups dedicated to the exchange of these invitations on other social networks, first of all Facebook. There are already several groups where people give away the free invitations they get when they sign up. You will soon receive your invitation, but remember to share the access with the people who are desperately trying to get in.

Clubhouse for companies: what are my expectations for Windowo

I entered by invitation, I registered my name (my name is Elia Caneppele , if you wish you can look for me in Clubhouse) and as an alias I obviously entered the name Windowo . In fact, my goal is to test Clubhouse to see if it is useful at work level to acquire new knowledge and meet interesting people related to the world of construction and new technologies.

Since Windowo is the online store dedicated to the world of articles for doors and windows, it seemed to me a good choice to immediately test the great potential of Clubhouse. I am always looking for new ways to learn and keep up to date on technological news and the construction and furniture sector in general.

Personally, I'm a big fan of podcasts, which I mostly listen to through the Spotify app. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use of Clubhouse: it took me a few minutes to understand how to enter and exit the rooms, look for the topics of the conversations I wanted to hear and understand how to find friends or famous influencers to follow.

It is still early to understand if it will be possible to seriously exploit this new social network of discussions on a professional level, but the positive premises are all there. Listening allows greater attention than the mere visualization typical of traditional social networks of vanity. In this way, complex topics can also be addressed, establishing open discussions with people who are experts in their area of expertise.

Now you have to excuse me, but I really have to go back to listening to a discussion on the importance of design in content marketing. A topic that I highly doubt I could have explored properly on Instagram stories. Luckily there is now Clubhouse.
